Chemicals found in processed foods, as well as some fruits and vegetables can hurt our health. Our bodies are unable to process chemical additives into nutrients, over time this may take a toll on our health. True, different things work for different people, but I think it’s safe to say that our bodies respond to what we put into them, and chances are if we’re not eating well our health will eventually suffer. Here are some reasons to think twice about processed foods: Harmful chemical additives are added to make foods last longer and look better, but what are they doing to your health? Additives such as nitrites and nitrates can be carcinogenic. Processed foods are often laden with hidden refined sugars and harmful fats. Healthful ingredients are stripped away, for example, the healthy bran is removed from breads, pastas, and rice. The white versions of these are stripped of all their natural nutrients leaving virtually nothing for the body to utilize for good health. No nutritional value means you get almost nothing your body needs. Whole grains, unsaturated fats, organic fruits and vegetables, consider trying healthier options.~
